The Cultural Board of IIT Guwahati encourages arts forms from all across the world from British Parliamentary Debate to our own Nukkad-Natak there is no dearth of ooportunities for the interested. Various events are held through out the year to encourage students to come out and showcase their talents.

CADENCE-THE CHOREOGRAPHY CLUB

Cadence is one of the most happening club at IITG not just because of dance, but the fun moments and the family culture that the club had cultivated over the years. The club showcases their power- packed performances in events like Electric heels in Alcheringa and Performing Arts Festival(PAF) and also brings delight to campus janta by organising events like Dandiya night,flash mob,workshop etc. Our bunch of crazy and passionate dancers can be seen practicing in our Dance Room throughout the night.At Cadence we don't believe in "Exasperating Farrago of moves, isolations, and stunts being performed by an overenthusiastic person, masquerading as a dancer". We are more of a "Feel aa rahi hai" kind of people.

Xpressions- The Dramatics Society

Xpressions-Express your heart out ! The dramatics society of IIT Guwahati is one of the most astounding club of all, with the simple aim of bringing out the "Dramebaaz" that every one beholds inside them. And when the “Nautanki” begins you never know what they have in their minds. Acknowledging and taking on the social issues in a goofy manner through their thought provoking Street plays, they are the “Tamaache”-As the name suggests. They have a kind of rebellious image when it comes to handing one to social issues. Or they can make you laugh, cry, chuckle, sometimes ponder or they can leave you speechless with their flawless acting. It can be a mime, a spoof, a monologue, a theatre or anything.These are just mediums. These “Draamebaaz” are unpredicatable. The club has always been living up to its name of the dramatics society of “IIT Guwahati”. It has brought together the whole campus community on the same artistic stage through their theatres and plays. So you see even professors are a part of this “Nautanki” gang.

FINE ARTS CLUB

FineArts club is one for the creative and imaginative. The club gives common grounds to people to come and , share a wonderful experience seeing things in a different way.
From workshops, to exhibitions, to really casual sessions, we organise everything. Have a lot going in your head? Put the clutter on to paper. Want to tell a story? Narrate it through various mediums.

We call ourselves Publications Sub-Committee , long for PSC. Now what we do and what we have done is right in front of you. That's right, this website which you are looking at, and that booklet you’ll soon have in your hand, Yes the Fresher's Guide, we had a great role in forming these for your assistance. For instance, a magazine dedicated to our campus will be out soon.

Lit-Soc Deb-Soc

Were Ross and Rachel on a break? Is Orange the new Black? Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield? BRICs – A Sinking Enterprise or a Beacon of Hope? These are just some of the topics we debate on during the regularly organised Parliamentary Debates. As the name suggests, LitSoc-DebSoc are the Literary and Debating Societies of IIT Guwahati. Aside from the debates, poem recital sessions, J.A.M sessions, Group Discussions and Mock MUNs are also conducted throughout the year. Contrary to popular opinion, language is not a barrier here at LitSoc-DebSoc. If you’re the kind of person who is itching to express yourself, and are looking for a platform to meet a group of people to have intellectually stimulating conversations with, then this could be the place for you. If you enjoy poems and those forms of expression, Poet's Corner, an entity within LitSoc will suit you just right.

OCTAVES

They say playing music is brain's equivalent of a full body workout! In short; music makes you smarter, music makes you cooler, music makes you interesting. We at IITG music society( mostly we call ourselves "octaves") believe in evolving and transforming with music. We provide a stage to all the musicians to exhibit and express in front of a huge audience in genres ranging from Indian classical, to bollywood, to western rock in numerous events throughout the year. Whether in an auditorium, or on the rooftop or in front of a food joint, we just perform, we don't care.

If you think you need to be a jimi hendrix reincarnation or have composition skills of mozart to get in this club? Then you are wrong. If you are a music lover, you are part of the family. We also have frequent workshops for sound engineering, music production and music appreciation sessions. In this club, we share,we create and we grow. Together. With music.

MONTAGE

From smiling faces to the weird candid ones, from clicking in jam pack fest nites to clicking in some random public scarce show, from blinding your eyes witg the flash to keeping that red eye in photos, we very proudly admit that yes we are the culprits you will see in the next four years repeating these crimes. We are the concoctur of awesome memories, we are the witches and wizards who conjure great Facebook DPs. We are Montage, The Photography Club of IIT Guwahati.

Lumière, the movie club

Lumière, the movie club is for all those movie buffs who just can’t keep in their love for films. There’s something magical about films, the way they can make you roll on floor with laughter, or secretly shed a tear or two, or take you to a different world all together. We watch this magic in creation, and make it happen. More than a club, it’s a family which shares adventures, memories, learning, fun and what not. From story-telling, to cinematography, from direction to editing, if any of these sounds alluring to you, just come to us, because honestly, it is actually pretty fascinating. And did I mention we’ll screen movies for you as well? In a nutshell, we are bunch of movie enthusiasts who love everything to do with films, everything!

Anchorenza and RadioG

Anchorenza and RadioG is regarded as one of the most versatile clubs in IITG, partly because they keep poking their nose in areas they aren't supposed to... anything that involves a microphone. The club is known for its free and creative environment. The club sees an increase in its members particularly the week before any club outing or treat. The club activities involve hosting radio shows, podcasts, open mic events, and creating witty content in the form of rants, candid interviews, professional interviews, skits and sketches (read poking their nose in places they aren't supposed to, rumour is they plan on making dance choreographies next. With a mic for a partner ofcourse). This club provides anchors for all the college events. This club is known to be one of the hippest clubs on campus, the club members keep denying it and the campus junta keeps reinforcing it.
