New SAC (Student Activity Centre)

It is the central social hub of IIT Guwahati housing all the club rooms. It is a retreat for students in the hot summers offering air conditioning and Wi-Fi. It stands out from other buildings in the institute for its glass walls which offer a glimpse of various activities students are involved in ranging from dance to yoga. It is usually buzzing with activity with groups of students flocking to hang out and relax after the day’s work. Access to club rooms require the authorization of the respective secretaries, all you need to do is show interest.

The Lakes

IIT Guwahati boasts of an amazing campus and the three lakes are among the reasons why it is one of the most beautiful campuses in India. They are a photographer’s dream come true. Absolutely stunning sights round the year over different seasons. If you’re not all that into photography, you can of course go old style, take a stroll, relax, and enjoy the view. You can go along chatting with friends, or reflecting up on yourself, what better place to do it than in nature’s lap? Be aware of snakes though, if you’re out in the night.

Viewpoint

This heavenly campus has an inhouse view point. A place at the top of the friendly neighbourhood hill, where one can look down upon the campus and the city. An ideal place for a morning walk or an evening stroll, the viewpoint is IITG's very own tourist spot. If you are lucky , you might meet the Director on one of his walks from his home that is situated close to the viewpoint. Be sure to say Hi! Beware of snakes though, if you're out in the night.
