Food court

What does every mall in the country have in common? Yes, a food court. IITG doesn't have a mall yet, but it does have a food court and it is situated right behind New SAC (Student Activity Centre) It has the following to offer:

Subway
Does this need explanation? Well, aside from having all the latest releases, this is the place for them who like it a little extra. A bit of extra mayo, a couple more olives- name it, have it.

Foodie’s World
The favourite fast food place of the FC, they are deliciously notorious for adding their own twists to classics like pizza, fried chicken and doing things to Maggi which were previously considered sacrilege. Also, you might have four grandkids by the time your food arrives.

Manikanta Restaurant
The hub of all food south Indian, enthusiasts often forget they sell anything besides the gift-to-humanity chicken biryani. On rarer occasions, the chutney served with the dosa is likened to cement, but that’s a matter for another time. Also, if you’re thinking of sambhar vada, *personal views alert* abort immediate.

Florentine
This is your token air-conditioned multi-cuisine, if you’re looking for The Great North Indian Gravy dishes, or if you don’t mind bones in your schezwan chicken.

Ambrosia
This is for the one with a sweet tooth. Ambrosia is here to help with pastries, brownies, lava cakes, an unending supply of soft drinks and the carrot cake.

Baskin Robbins
When the going gets tough, the tough get Baskin Robbins. Not like you’ll make through it if you’re not tough enough. They offer the standard 31 flavours and the standard discount on the 31st of a month.

CAFE COFFEE DAY

More than the usual caffeinated delights, CCD upholds its status as the restaurant with the best view. Sitting on the semi open air balcony in front of the library, you can enjoy a full panoramic view of the best part of the academic complex, and watch the sky change colours as you pick your roasted coffee beans off the whipped cream.

VINAIGRETTE

None is unaware of the fact that the unholy pangs of hunger can, in fact, erupt at any moment. What are puny hurdles like time when a determined student wants a snack at midnight? Fear not, for the Vinaigrette 24-hour canteen is at your service. It serves arguably the most wholesome, delicious and affordable food in the campus, and what’s better- at any time you please. It is also situated at generous distances from all hostels, but that would only make sure you’re hungry enough.

SILVER DINE

Want some Fine Dining? You'll get it at silver dine.From Indian and Chinese cuisine to the Italian pastas and pizzas, this is by far the best place on campus to enjoy a quite night out.

KHOKHA MARKET

Speaking of on-campus food joints, 100 metres off campus should be legal, right? Situated right outside the faculty gate, Khokha Market=fun evenings. The frothing creamy tea here one can kill for, not to mention the delish plates of chicken pakora, or samosa chaat. It is the one stop de-stress to all your stress. This place also houses a medical shop, courier pick up points, Telecom stores and a few cycle repair stores.

MARKET COMPLEX

IIT Guwahati's version of a shopping complex, it houses salons, tailor shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and ATMs. Situated near the main gate, it is quite far from all the hostels, but if there is something you need, this is probably the right place to find it.

HOSPITAL

Common Cold? Allergy? Need a refill on your vitamin tablets? The institute hospital is at your service. Manned by highly qualified in house doctors, they provide the best care available to make sure that you are fit to go as soon as possible.

Banks and ATM

IIT Guwahati wants its students to ‘be wise money-wise’ and for the convenience of students and other campus residents, houses a branch of Canara Bank and SBI each and both come with an ATM right in front of the banks, which are located in the administrative building area.If you venture out to the market complex and are tempted to shop or a Silver Dine treat ends up emptying your wallets, an ICICI Bank ATM is situated right there to save you.Also there’s another Canara Bank ATM in New SAC which faces the ‘No Cash’ problem too often due to the very frequent pre-Food Court party withdrawals.
